March 10: Philippine Navy seized more than P5.7 million worth of smuggled goods loaded in three vessels sneaking through the southern backdoor from Sabah, Malaysia. Southern Command public information chief Maj. Gamal Hayudini said M/L Amelyn, M/L Souvenir II and M/L Alma were intercepted in three separate operations off Bongao, Tawi-Tawi. The skippers of the vessels could not present importation documents for the confiscated assorted foodstuffs, dry goods and 150 drums of unleaded gasoline.
March 13: A 14-year old schoolgirl was kidnapped in Marawi City. A certain Pondo Undoya kidnapped Rima Bangcoia, a student of Mindanao State University Training Center. Reports said the suspect using a light blue Tamaraw FX van brought his hostage to an area in Basak, Lanao del Sur. Authorities said motive of the incident still unknown.
March 14: Gunmen robbed a bus and wounded three passengers in Baliguian, Zamboanga del Norte. Major Hayudini said five armed men waylaid a passenger bus along barangay Kalya Panty highway, wounding a teacher, businessman and a student. The perpetrators strafed the bus and divested belongings and money of the passengers before fleeing.
