 Grace Poe barnstorms Zamboanga
Promises 30% of P1 trillion budget to Mindanao

Presidential candidate Grace Poe together with her running mate Senator Francis Escudero and their senatorial bets under the team Gobyernong May Puso arrived Friday, March  4, 2016, in Zamboanga City for their first ever campaign sortie in southern Philippines.

In a press conference, Poe has promised at least 30% of the national budget to Mindanao to alleviate the poverty stricken provinces in the region.

"Sixteen out of thirty provinces in Mindanao can be classified as below the poverty
line," Poe told a jampacked crowd of reporters and supporters.

"The poverty problem should be solved since this is a major reason for the unstable peace and order situation in Mindanao."

According to her, the budget for Mindanao will be spent for the development of infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and to provide for agricultural assistance.

"I hope that a bigger budget will entice lawless elements to go back to the fold of the law," she added.

Poe together with party mates held a big rally at a convention center, attended a student forum and round of television and radio stations in the city, as well as inauguratian of headquarter for the youth. MGPI News
