Police nabbed 2 gun for hire suspects in killing of lady regional audit lawyer in Zamboanga

Two suspects in the killing of Atty. Vilma Rosilio Agias, Commission on Audit (COA) regional cluster director in Zamboanga City, arrested by policemen. They were presented to Mayor Celso Lobregat at City Hall Friday.

Police security forces on Friday arrested two suspects for killing a regional audit executive along Cabato Road in Barangay Tetuan last Thursday, officials said yesterday.

Eduardo Seriales and his companion Jonathan Omadan were arrested at dawn Friday during a pursuit operation by policemen at Upper Cabatangan, according to Police Inspector Hado Edding.

Atty. Vilma Rosilio Agias, Commission on Audit (COA) regional cluster director, was shot dead by two men on a motorcycle. She was on her vehicle on way to work when she was gunned down.

"The suspects are known gun for hire operating in the city. They were caught while about to leave the house of a certain Jun Caballo," Edding said in a press statement.

Police Supt. Manuel Barcena, city police chief, congratulated the arresting police team for the speedy arrest of alleged gunmen that came less than 48 hours after Thursday's incident.

Barcena and Edding presented the two suspects to Mayor Celso Lobregat at City Hall after undergoing a paraphen test at Camp Abendan crime laboratory, R.T. Lim Boulevard.
At City Hall, the suspects denied having perpetrated the killing of lawyer Agias.

"Gidakup lang mi didtu nga wala...tingala mga tawo didtu (we were just arrested without...the people there wondered)," Omadan told reporters.

"Tiene iyo trabaho, pakimodo man iyo tira (I have work, how can I shot)," Seriales reacted when told by a reporter that he was the triggerman.

But a witness said Seriales is the man depicted in the artist's cartographic sketch.

It was not immediately known when the suspects would be put on trial and if they had lawyers.
